Grades: 9, 10

Prerequisite: None
Whether considering a career in construction or investigating woodworking as a lifelong hobby, this course teaches the skills necessary for success in many trades: safe use of hand and power tools, accuracy in measurement, properties of materials, and project planning. The goal will be to instill a sense of accomplishment by allowing students to create a finished product from raw materials. Examples of past projects include table lamps, DVD cases, toolboxes, and benches of your own design. Students will learn and create a project following a blueprint design.
