Visual Media - Film I & II #CT475
Level: College Prep
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Intro to Film and/or Film I and instructor recommendation.
Film 1 and 2 are two different course levels with separate curriculums, combined into the same block. Each level will focus on diving deep into the production model, working in a crew, and skills to work as a freelance videographer.
Film I takes the learning from Intro to Film a step further and brings students into a full production model. Covering cinematography, lighting, and audio, and diving deeper into the world of editing, students will take their introductory knowledge of filmmaking and apply it to projects that go from pre-production to production, to post-production.
Film II is a fast-paced project course, where students will spend all of their time writing, filming, and editing stories to match the assigned clients from diverse sectors. By the end of Film II, students will have the skills to conceptualize, create, and present a cinematic video from start to finish.
