Prerequisite: Introduction to Marketing or Intro to Business

Students in this course cultivate a basic to intermediate understanding of social media history, terminology and concepts as they apply to the marketing and business sectors.  Students integrate a working knowledge of platform management and simple social media strategies as well as how to practice good marketing principles in an electronic marketing arena.   In this course, students take an in-depth look into the marketing of goods and services within a very diverse industry.  Topics include Sports and Entertainment, Fashion, Retail marketing, consumer behavior, product planning, visual merchandising, pricing, and advertising.   DECA membership is strongly encouraged where leadership development is emphasized.
