Criminal Justice II is a comprehensive course in Criminal Law. This course expands on the topics covered in the Introductory Class; the focus will be on the law and legal procedures of the U.S. Criminal Justice System, including the sources of law, elements of crimes, various criminal defenses, crimes against persons (robbery, assault, stalking, homicide) and property crimes (theft, arson, embezzlement, burglary), as well as relevant Supreme Court cases. Students will examine the Juvenile Justice system, discuss the Death Penalty, and explore special topics such as Cyber Crimes and Terrorism. Guest speakers will include defense attorneys and homicide investigators. If you are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or studying Criminal Justice/law in college, this class is for you!
